The main town in the region goes by the name of Esquel, and it holds 45.000 souls. It is 25 km away from the local airport. Esquel has numerous lodging and restaurant options. Even though Esquel has grown into a medium size town over the years it still has that small town rhythm of life where “siesta” time is still a must.

From Esquel we have several options, but the main one would be the “Rio Grande”, a tail water from the Amutui Quimei damn with two different stretches of weed beds and eddies full of rainbows and browns suitable to all kinds of flies and fishing methods. From Esquel also we can reach Arroyo Pescado and Rio Gualjaina, also well known for their quality wade fishing.
