Río Pico
Río Pico
Rio Pico is both a small town and a region about 200 miles south from Esquel Airport. Being the smallest, remotest and less developed location is the one with the lower amount of lodging facilities, with less glamour and comfort. You will hardly find a high-end five star hotel in this area but there are some suitable cabins that will make you feel comfortable enough not to miss luxurious options.
What Rio Pico lacks from infrastructure, compensates with fish quality. There are over a dozen lakes and ponds and three main rivers and their smaller tributaries where to choose from. But the real appeal of Rio Pico is the size of the fish we find. There are trophy size fish in every one of these environments no matter if you are looking for browns, rainbows or brook trout. Dries, nymphs and streamers all are excellent options when fishing these waters and you are looking for a monster size fish.
